In fact I don't like these self-portrayal things, but a few people asked me to write something about me and Creatures. So here is it ;-)
I guess most people want to know how I become a Creatures fan. The truth is, it was just pure chance that I found my way to the Creatures Community. A friend lent me Creatures 1 because it wasn't his kind of game.
Whereas I was very enthusiastic about Creatures because I've read about it in a magazine a while ago. This enthusiasm continues as I started to install and play the game. I was very interested in how the creatures bequeath their lookout and behaviour to their offspring, so I started to make a few experiments.
Soon I was a proud owner of an internet access and discovered that there where many wonderful homepages about Creatures. I started to collect new COBs, breeds and tools which made the game much more interesting.
As Creatures 2 was released I had not enough money to buy it, in that time I was a poor pupil ;-) That was very frustrating because I've seen so many pictures with the cute Creatures 2 Norns. I don't made the same mistake twice and bought Creatures 3 as soon as it was available. At the beginning I was very disappointed about C3. The norns weren't as cute as the C2 norns and didn't suite my taste; additionally, I was confused about the large amount of machines. But after I've discovered how independent the C3 norns act I began to enjoy the game.
A few weeks later I decided to buy Creatures 2 intending to complete my Creatures collection. But I had to discover that the game was no longer available anywhere. I searched through nearly every warehouse in Berlin but it was nowhere to be found any more. At last I remembered that the video store nearby sometimes sells old games, so I went there and actually found Creatures 2. I bought a second-hand version in good condition and was very happy ;-)
Afterwards I started to get involved with Creatures genetics because I wanted to create norns in many different colors. At the same time I had a great interest in HTML and the first drafts of my later homepage emerged. I spent nearly all my free time with Creatures and my page so it was finally finished in January 2001. I continued to deal with Creatures genetics and created the first pages of my Archives of colored Creatures 2 Norns.
Genetics were not the only thing I was interested in - I also liked to create graphics. I designed the layout of Amanora's Creatures as well as my first C2 nornbreed the Dewa Norns, some Screensavers for C2, Wallpapers and later I added some Nornart plus many more.
All I can say is that Creatures is still fascinating even after a few years. There are still things to discover and develop and I never played any other game which fascinated me that long.
