Species slot

A species slot is a value ostensibly representing the species of a creature. In practice, the non-norn slots are often used as overflow slots for unofficial norn breeds.
The four slots are:
Each breed slot can be considered to be inside a species slot. Originally there were 10 breed slots to each species slot (0 to 9); Creatures 2 and latter games have 26 (A to Z). Compare with breed slot.
