Artificial intelligence denotes a system capable of behaviour normally seen in thinking beings. Typically these systems are modelled on computers.

Simple artificial intelligence is found in many computer systems these days, however 'true' artificial intelligence, capable of independent thought and growth remains a holy grail of programming. It is believed that such an intelligence cannot ever be programmed, though it could likely be evolved through the medium of A-Life.
